PIM for Marketplace Sellers: Amazon, bol.com, Kaufland, OTTO and eBay
Every marketplace wants the same product in a slightly different shape. Keep one approved record in LynkPIM and let each connector send the content, identifiers and attributes that marketplace asks for.
- Best for
- Brands and retailers that list the same products on several marketplaces
Core pain points
- Each marketplace has its own required attributes, category tree and title rules, so listings drift apart.
- A missing or invalid EAN blocks a listing, and you find out only after the upload fails.
- Content is fixed directly in each seller account and the fixes never reach your other channels.
Required data model and workflow considerations
- One product record with variants, each with its own EAN, MPN and price.
- Marketplace-specific attributes mapped once per channel instead of copied by hand.
- Completeness rules per marketplace, so a product is sent only when it has what that marketplace requires.
What each marketplace connector sends
Each connector sends product content and offers from the same approved record. The table shows the main fields per marketplace; mapped attributes travel too, as the marketplace's own fields or extra columns.
| Marketplace | Content | Offer |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon (Seller Central) | Title, description, brand, bullet points, images, identifiers and attributes for the chosen product type | Price and quantity from the stock attribute |
| bol.com | Title, description, brand and images per EAN | Price and delivery promise; stock when the offer is first created |
| Kaufland | Title, description, manufacturer, pictures and category per EAN, plus mapped attributes and variant options | Price, handling time; stock when the offer is created |
| OTTO Market | EAN, category, brand, description, bullet points, variant options, attributes and images | Price with VAT rate, delivery time and quantities |
| eBay | Title, description, brand, MPN, EAN, images and item specifics | Price in the marketplace currency and quantity |
| Etsy | Title, description, category and images | Price and inventory with up to two variation properties |
| Mirakl marketplaces | A product file with SKU, EAN, title, description, brand, category, variant group and images | Price, quantity, condition and lead time |
Identifiers first
Most marketplace rejections start with the identifier. Amazon, bol.com, Kaufland and OTTO match or list products by EAN, so a variant without a valid GTIN, or with a typo in the check digit, fails before anyone reads your description. In LynkPIM the EAN is a validated field: the check digit is verified and a product without one is held back with a clear reason instead of failing in the seller dashboard.
Free GTIN, UPC and EAN validatorOne record, each marketplace's shape
- Map an attribute once per marketplace: your “colour” becomes Amazon's colour field, OTTO's attribute and eBay's item specific.
- Write channel text only where a marketplace needs it; everywhere else the default title and description are used.
- Completeness rules per channel show which products are not ready for which marketplace before you push.
- Fixes made in LynkPIM reach every marketplace on the next push, instead of living in one seller account.
What LynkPIM does not do
LynkPIM is not an order or inventory system. It does not import orders, handle returns or keep stock in sync across marketplaces; where a marketplace asks for a quantity, the connector sends the value from your stock attribute. If you need order routing and live stock sync, use a marketplace integrator or your ERP for that part, and LynkPIM for the product content.
Implementation path
Use a phased rollout path that starts with a representative category, clear owners, and channel-specific validation.
- 1
Load your catalog and check identifiers first: every sellable variant needs a valid EAN.
- 2
Map attributes and categories for your first marketplace and push one category as a pilot.
- 3
Fix what the marketplace rejects in LynkPIM, then add the next marketplace from the same record.

Solution FAQs
Does LynkPIM manage marketplace orders?
No. LynkPIM manages product content and offers: titles, descriptions, images, identifiers, attributes and prices. Orders, returns and day-to-day stock stay in the marketplace or your order and stock systems.
Do I need an EAN for every variant?
For Amazon, bol.com, Kaufland and OTTO, yes in practice: they match or list products by EAN, so each sellable variant needs its own valid GTIN. LynkPIM flags variants without one before you push.
Can I send different titles to different marketplaces?
Yes. Text written for a channel or language wins over the default, so you can keep a base title and adjust it where a marketplace has its own rules.
